Supporting our community of carers
Throughout the year, our Roots Carers’ Panel is responsible for planning and hosting events that provide support for carers of children and young people – organising opportunities to come together, chat, share experiences and enjoy time amongst other like-minded adults in similar situations.
In July, the panel organised a meal at a local restaurant attended by 15 carers – with funding provided through the Roots Carers’ Panel. Holding events where carers can come together is an important aspect of Roots’ provision and give opportunities for mutual support andd community-building. We were delighted that so many were able to attend and the occasion was well enjoyed.
If you are a foster carer, kinship carer, SGO carer or adopter and would like to be involved with Roots, please get in touch. Our regular Carers’ coffee mornings take place every Wednesday during term time from 10.00am to 12.00pm, at the Roots centre.

Our schedule of funded summer events for care experienced children and young people are taking place throughout the school holidays in July and August 2025. They include a range of activities – from a residential trip to days out, and visits to local experiences such as paintballing and bowling. Take a look at our schedule below for details.
We would also like to extend our thanks to The Range, Cwmdu who helped us source the items for the garden and gifted us a discount on the items purchased.
