Roots is our home from home – a place where we can share our personal experiences and always be supported.
We are like a family – the children and young people who come here are different ages, schools, backgrounds, interests… but we all have understanding for each other, and we have each others’ backs.
It’s natural to be shy or anxious, if you are a child or young person coming to Roots for the first time. Lots of us have been in this position. But you will always get a warm, friendly welcome here. We’ll help you to settle in, meet others, and join in any activities you want to at whatever pace suits you. There is no pressure to take part, and there is always someone to listen and provide help.

Rosemary
Roots attendee and former youth panel member

“Hello, I’m Rosemary. I have been attending Roots for about 10 years now, and am a former youth panel member!
I love coming to Roots for youth and other groups during the week and attending many amazing activities over school holidays!
With Roots we have done paddle boarding, days at Pembrey, silent discos, sports in the park, ice skating, escape rooms and so much more! Having Roots has helped so much, knowing there is somewhere you can go whenever you need and for whatever reason is very reassuring. The staff are lovely and a lot of fun.”
